I've been on .win for a while now, but haven't really posted here before because r/conspiracy was at least somewhat tolerable for a little while after u/axolotl_peyotl was unceremoniously booted for talking about the election conspiracy.
However, it's since started getting intolerable. The mods have basically just stopped getting rid of users who are there to troll (even when they admit it), break rule 2 by just bitching about the subreddit constantly, not to mention the brigadiers who have been brigading even harder since nonewnormal was banned.
There are users there I have personally reported no less than 30 times over a period of weeks or months for breaking rule 2 and/or trolling and they're still fucking there. They won't get rid of the comments 99% of the time let alone actually ban the people who consistently break the rules. The only mod who I can see even tries is Amos and that's it, and I can't expect him to be able to do it all by himself.
What they do remove though are links to this sub (*win), but mostly leave the links to the nonewnormal win alone, which is bullshit. They don't mind NNN users coming to the win sites, but god forbid people want to check out a conspiracy forum that's not their own.
r/conspiracy has just been going downhill ever since you left Axo. Thanks for having the foresight to make this place, even if it's not getting the amount of users it deserves to. I'm still going to keep trying to refer people here who are tired of the bullshit and hope it makes it passed the dickheads who don't want people to have an alternative.
OP this means a great deal and was really timely. Thanks so much for sharing.
I loved /r/conspiracy and my time there was a joy, even as it started getting increasingly dark and burdensome.
In its prime the community there was one of the finest and most engaging/stimulating I'd ever encountered on the web. It was an honor to have brushed elbows with all the rapscallions, the luminaries and everyone in between.
We're at a pivotal point for humanity atm. We're being offered a precious opportunity to see just how bad things could be if we ever relinquish our freedom.
It was a relief to be banned. Honestly the admins did me such a massive favor, and not just for my mental health! There are only so many abusive messages per day for years that any sane person should be subjected to, and I prob was at the limit there.
Not only was the weight lifted, but ironically my efforts on the sub I think only really became apparent after I left. As OP mentions, Rule 2 and other violations exploded. I spent 90% of my moderator duties cleaning this up. When the shills cite the metrics of my "censorship" they conveniently leave out that I was removing rule violations and banning the same repeat offenders.
They knew I was the only mod who was bothering to clean up this behavior, and they used those metrics to portray me as an unhinged power-monger that "banned people who disagreed" which is absurd on its face.
I don't think the remaining team are bad ppl, they've just largely moved on with their lives (as we all do) and are simply uninterested in maintaining a civil level of discourse, which is admittedly a massive undertaking. Amos is the real deal, but one man is not enough against an army of shills and useful idiots, as noted by OP.
They went in too hard and too fast...the censorship, the COVID op, the naked fascism...they have awakened a sleeping beast in humanity and the perpetrators will very soon be trembling in awe at the power they've unleashed against them.
We were all undoubtedly meant to be born right now for this conflict, and even more importantly for when we craft a better way after the long overdue demise of this old and broken one.
It's an honor to be here right now with you OP and all of you reading this.
Let's go!
