When a comment only seems to be deleted to some. What is going on with this site?

Why is this comment visible when I am logged out and deleted when I am logged in? What is going on here?
Have you ever seen what Reddit does?
If you are in a comment thread on a major subreddit, like politics, say you conclude a thread with an unimpeachable statement. If it was a conversation with a shill, often you can log out and/or check their user page and see a "final" comment in that thread that you cannot see normally in the subreddit. Usually, these comments are super nasty...so even though you got the last "real" word, the thread ends with insults or attacks upon your character.
So there too has a similar "issue".
Yes, possibly unfortunately for the developers here I am quite concerned when I see stuff happening here that I saw there. I also recently became aware of the fact that when they delete a comment here it gets deleted for everyone but the person who made it. I used to hate that crap on Reddit too. I think it is possible that might change for the better here. We'll see.
Yes. The bad part is they don't tell you it has been deleted, so you are left to wonder if no one was interested or if anyone at all saw your comment.
