Hi all, at u/Christianity we routinely delete comments that describe Christianity as idolatry without providing civil, reasonable discourse. The thread referred to by OP was about one theory of canonization of Scripture, and OP was clearly accusing the first thread poster (u/Andy_Man45) as idolizing the written text above God, without providing source, argument, or civility. We do permit debate about Christianity but keep it limited to structured threads and focused discussions so as to deter uncivil, unsupported, low-effort comments.
u/Graphenium correctly points out that this is standard practice and that the c/Christianity/logs are publicly available. u/clemaneuverers correctly points out that there is no function to shadow-ban (to permit comments while not letting others see them). When comments are deleted this is obvious to all who check the thread.
