The China Model is still mostly in China. The party hasn't begun because the rest of the world has not yet adopted it. The ones people targeted are people who refuse or don't have access to the shots.
Unless "elites" would plan to kill each other next - fighting for even more power.
In such case nationalist and smart soldier might be better than sheep for their purposes.

In case if they want just power and/or are stupid and energy and climate crisis is lie they would obviously want to kill first - us. If they are smart enough to even do calculation - I doubt it really, majority of those idiots on the top are not self made mans what means they are in most cases some kind of degenerates.
If they really think that we have energy crisis and resource crisis (do they ? I doubt it !) than more advanced technology and more obedient consumers isn't a solution but source of problems as it would consume more rare resources and energy. Profit must be higher or equal than effort put in thing or investment is failure. Simple economy. But do they know it ? I'm afraid they are not.
In case those problem are real - even despite political problems we would cause - we - critical thinkers,survivalists and so on - would be beneficial choice to be left alive. Simply because if there are coming hard times and you would have cattle herd you would want to have strongest ones in herd. Weak ones are too big effort to care about them. If they really ever think they would make some AI to make people drones controlled by it than they will cause disaster that will wipe out both human drones and them. Not because of AI power.Because of its lack.
