I agree to an extent.

Believing the opposite of every single thing said on MSM does not make you a free thinker. It just makes you a contrarian.

I will admit that the vast majority of people will be unable to discern truth from fiction.

But blanket statements and generalizations do more harm than good.

People are going to seek out “information” that backs up what they already believe.

“Truth” is now ambiguous.
