As a kid, I was obsessed with airplanes and went to EAA airventure pretty much every year. I always wondered why the tech at the NASA booth was so underwhelming. Every year it was the same stuff, and it wasn't really cutting edge like the homebuilts or military aircraft.
I grew up going to Space Center Houston a lot. Even in the 90s it was just a fake underwhelming kiddie museum. In 2019 we were back home visiting family & did the Christmas Lights display where you go to NASA in Houston at night and tour the public grounds that’s supposed to be the museum type stuff. EVERYTHING there is a “replica”, it’s basically just a huge facade. A front.
