Blacks were adapting before the Johnson admin. Fatherlessness was lower than whites, GDP per capita was growing faster than whites (though that makes sense given the starting point)
Crime is a product of poverty, and black poverty is a direct and deliberate product of Dem policies. A permanent underclass that they can exploit for political purposes.
Shutting them out of conservatism/libertarianism/populism/whatever only exacerbates the problem

I think if they had spent any effort at all supporting Klacik, she would have won and showed how to reach blacks with a right wing message. But the GOP is filled with spineless pussies.
"Won" was probably an overstatement. Moral victory, or doing far better than expected and thus showing how to do it in places like Georgia or North Carolina is perfectly reasonable though
