People who brown-nose the darkside know what they're doing. They hate themselves for it. Beyond that though. What could be going on between the factions.

Cause this dude don't look nothin' like her.

Wild speculation: they killed Melinda, duped her with a dude (Kevin Kline), and are laughing about us humans being too stupid to tell them apart.
