I think if people knew how many interactions with bots they had beyond simple voting, it would shine a big light on things.
Here’s an idea, even if only as a trial.
Could we get some kind of policy to ask some kind of simple math question at the end of each comment/post (that’s not just plain numbers, so bots can’t pick it up) and then people to ignore/downvote any response that doesn’t answer it.
For example:
Three plus tooo.
Number of Two human’s worth of arms minus six.
Bakers dozen minus phive.
Numbers of letters in the word cat minus the number of letters in the word smile.
A squares’s corners plus a circle’s corners.
Well yeah, basically.
It kills the quick flow of things and requires a level of trust that the captcha isn’t compromised in any way. This keeps it between the users interacting with each other
