If they could care less, it means they DO care, to some degree.

Or did you mean they COULDN'T care less? That means they don't care at all.

This one always gets me and it harms the credibility of the speaker/writer to those who understand the figure of speech. I don't judge but want to make sure we're all making our arguments as strong as possible, and that includes choosing your words precisely.
