Y'know I get where these people are coming from. One day you wake up and realize that nearly everything you've been taught to believe is a lie. So now you find yourself with no firm foundation to start building from so you go looking. But you start with the premise that everything you've been told is most likely a lie. So you look for the truth. And you find lots of people out there willing to tell you the truth. People that the authorities and experts you now know are all liars say are liars. So if a liar tells you someone is a liar who do you believe?
You have no actual way to verify any of the information anyone is telling you. You can't do calculus to experiment, you can't launch a rocket to space, you can't sail a ship around the world, and you can't fly a plane. So it's just different people telling you different versions of their truth.
Who do you believe? The people who have proven themselves liars or the people the liars claim are liars?
Don’t get me wrong; I’ve personally experienced the “life collapsed, everything was a lie, rebuild from here” thing. But where these people fall flat (no pun intended) on their faces is that in not having that information (as you described), they choose instead to not even bother trying to get it. They’re totally fine with willful ignorance because they’re too afraid of being lied to again to ever actually stand up for anything, least of all themselves.
And so yes, anyone who can’t do basic elementary school trigonometry or geometry is perfectly capable of thinking the Earth is flat. They just also need to be kept from voting and from leaving the insane asylum.
the earth is flat. antarctica surrounds us.
If the earth were flat, I'd think it more likely that antarctica was at the center and arctic ocean surrounds us.
Compass? Doesn't point north. The short end of the needle is actually pointing at antarctica, in the center.
Northern lights? Might be a visual of some energy field at the edge of the world.
I don't believe any of this. Just some theories for fun.
I know the earth ain't flat 'cause time zones and relatives calling from the other side of the planet at night tell me it's day over there.
You’re clinically insane. Everything you believe is a lie.

I thought he was joking.
