We are told that we only have tides in the oceans and seas because of the moon so why do we only see the moon once a day but we have two tides?

My dad was on the video call to his brother UK and Australia and the sun was directly above then both. Its very odd to be.
You can see the moon in daytime. It is in the sky all day. Except for when there is no moon, in the cycles of waining and waxing.
