"...I discovered that if you keep an open mind and examine alternative conspiracy theories impartially and critically, you will immediately get denounced by two groups --- those who still have the taboo against thinking about this subject at all, and those who believe they are such clever fellows that they have uncovered the One Real Worldwide Conspiracy which controls everything. The first group calls you paranoid and the second group claims you're a CIA agent assigned to confuse people and muddle the search for truth. I found this amusing once I saw how mechanical it was: all the real paranoids think I'm a government agent and all the people without a sense of humor think I'm paranoid."
