Is it fair to suggest they didn't? Instead, it was conspiracy's most used word of a false flag. Nope leverage. The militias will carry on regardless, they are armed Shia factions, even if the deal was on the table. From an American standpoint the need for a new deal, reigning in Iran's arm trade. My point is how do you know the embassy was attacked? None of us really know unless we are there, we all choose who to trust that provides us with info.
I mean to be fair, you only know what you know because you read that Iran supplies the rockets and then were told the forensics.

A person died. A contractor was killed. It was all make belief. Rocket explosion dead and injured. It happened.
