Being that my friend (who is a former biomedical researcher with patents) had it with all the symptoms but never got tested, I think that probably rules out the swab option. Mosquitos? Maybe. Although in July it would have been a bit hot for them.

Either way, its transmission pattern is NOT via normal air transmission.
