My mom wouldn't let me play soccer...er, footie, because she thought it was too dangerous. Same goes for American football. Basketball has far less injuries, so I'd tend to agree, my experience notwithstanding. Did sprain one ankle a lot, but I originally sprained it playing tennis (walking backwards just to retrieve a ball, no less).
I absolutely love soccer now though...I did play a little as a teen, even played "black top" soccer a lot, which is hella fun.
I tutored for a long time and one of my students was a CF for one of the Chelsea sponsored American club teams, and they got thrashed often, especially playing abroad.
As a funny aside, I won $680 one time at halftime of an indoor soccer league match by scoring against two goalies (who were two old guys from a radio station morning show). I was in college at the time, and a bunch of guys (including a few friends of mine) from my college were coincidentally at that game, and I could hear them ragging on me from the stands. I really tucked the ball away. :)
A soccer coach that tried after me missed THREE times (yeah, we had three chances...it was WAY too easy). Good times. :)
Nah, my mom never left home LOL.
Favorite team...that's a toughie...Leicester kind of plays like I thought Everton was gonna turn out, so they are fun to watch.
Seeing Kante go to Chelsea was tough. Not a big fan of the "system".
I do like Tottenham as well...hard not to like guys like Son that are always smiling. Kane is of course pretty sick.
My brother has Rashford maxxed out in FIFA and he's ridiculous, but he's been way better the last few times I've seen him IRL. I guess Maguire is probably a bit up your alley...
I do like how players are getting a bit more versatile like they used to be back in the day.
Hah...my mom's boyfriend's name is Tom, and I called him McTominay one time.
Fernandes is great and has that looseness that most players sorely lack. Cavani is a badass. I've seen him on the bench there chomping at the bit...
I like Aurier a lot but Wan Bissaka is a bit better overall.
I was hoping Havertz would turn out like Fernandes, especially having Timo Werner to go get it, but I have no idea what they are doing and honestly have missed most of Chelsea's games.
