Couldn't they just look at voting records or just get campaign contribution lists? Maybe just get local militia registries ?

Why the theatrics when they have the NSA?

I've heard a similar theory but it all just seems so over the top and unnecessary to do it this way.

It's still a mystery as to why he called everyone to DC that day. Plausible explanation though.

That makes sense ...it occurred to me later they are looking for the loose cannons .
