The genie is out of the bottle. Do you think Gab is just going to die one day? It's reaching critical mass and building out its services(video-streaming, Gab Marketplace, many more), and there are others like Mastodon and other decentralized services which can't easily be taken offline. It'll start with alt-tech, but you'll see more widespread adoption of alt-currencies, alt-services and alt-utilities, alt-capitalism. What does institutional authority matter when they have no leverage over your money or your communications? It doesn't feel like it right now, but this is a massively empowering movement that's just started.
