Well I'd say get rid of your "money" by turning it into value preserving or appreciating assets while your "money" is still capable of doing so... Gold and silver are kind of traditional in that role but there are other options, like pick what's right for you but don't let yourself get stuck sitting on a bunch of "money" that won't buy a quarter of what it once did.
