My grandfather was a Mason. Always wore the ring. Always had the little emblem on the back of every Buick he ever owned.
Two years ago, he was on his deathbed. Out of the hospital, he had pancreatic cancer that was inoperable. I spent a lot of time with him in the last few months before his death. Eventually, he was unable to walk or move much, so he stayed in bed 24 hours a day.
One night, we were watching Jeopardy (he loved Alex Trebek), and I asked him about the Masons. "What's the big secret? What do they know that everyone else doesn't?"
"Nothing," he said. "It's a good 'ol boys club for men who want to play golf and network."
That was it. I was bummed out. I thought for sure he'd give me something, anything to go on. He often said he would sponsor my membership and even taught me a special handshake when I was a kid.
You're fucking everywhere, always ready to toss in the mainstream line. No shit the actual string pullers didn't bring your gramp-gramp in on the joke. That doesn't change the fact these people built America and the rest of the modern world on a skeleton of occultist ritualism.
Everywhere? Man, I wish I was on a beach in Cabo right now... alas. I'm not everywhere.
