I think Elon Musk created SpaceX to successful mine a near Earth Asteroid. Not really a conspiracy. Anyways there are more rare minable rare earth metals on an asteroid than on the entire Earth.
The conspiracy is that apparently the SSP have been mining asteroids to pay for its enterprises for decades, this is really old news.
