I woke up to the top post on our old subreddit being some shitty Twitter screenshot from some dude who doesn't know how to spell who was sharing blatantly false information in another top post the other day. The third top post is another shitty Twitter screenshot from some rando who doesn't know how to spell.
While the sentiment of those tweets (questioning covid) is fine. It's just another example of the degradation of the content shared on the old subreddit. I hope this one can flourish and blossom into what /r/conspiracy used to be.
Thanks for making this, if nothing else, as a backup for when the hammer eventually comes down.
July 29, 2016 - The day after the Democratic National Convention
Also first post on this win, although I've been on TD since day 1 or 2. Thanks for bringing this community over from Chinese Tencent pro-censorship Reddit. Happy to have you hear.
Your subreddit, even though it was starting to get overrun by shills, was still one of the last places that allowed any semblance of free speech on the site. r/WayOfTheBern was somewhat ok too even if you're an ex-Democrat ex-Bernie Trump supporter.
I also noticed the turn of events in 2016. Slowly I have been banned from 10 subreddits over the last 2 years. Even new subs like r/Lexfridman because I shared the post of the Chinese guy with the Printers and Voter ballots.
The title of the post what "What is everybody thoughts on this?". Next day Ban. No mod message nothing, just straight ban.
I accused the Mod of being a Communist and thanked him for confirming my believes.
I cant believe I didnt know about thedonald.win until 4 weeks ago... I knew I wasnt alone but I really didnt know where do go online. Reddit was my only social media, other than Discord for hanging out with my friends, and a Mastodon server based on NoAgenda podcast.
Reddit has been fucked for so long and the grip keeps getting tighter everyday and finally enough people are being squeezed out between the fingers of censorship.
I was even banned from r/publicfreakout, because I said "covid is a lie" ironically, and it was getting annoying seeing how every "freak out" was a mask resistor, or Trump rally.
They literally ruin every single sub, and the rest are just PR subs for brands, games, shows and so forth.
You are not allowed to showcase and discuss hackers/cheaters on Apex Legends... like what the fuck is the point of a sub for a video game if you cant discuss game issues...
I hope the internet continues to break up these massive websites and all the Normies figure out how the internet actually works, in that Facebook, REddit, twitter are not the internet, they are just corporate sites and apps designed to brainwash and advertise.
Reddit got a massive cash infusion from partisan investors after 2016 because they were very powerfull in raising money for sanders and boosting pro Trump messages on tD. Politics got likely bought out as well. From there it went downhill even more than before.
The only other Platform on which I'm active is pocketnet.app as it got no top down censorship model everything is a flat structure for the content curation.
